Qimarox has expanded its headquarters in Harderwijk considerably. Thanks to an internal renovation, the manufacturer of material handling components has doubled the number of workplaces. At the same time, the premises have been made a lot more sustainable, for example, by installing energy efficient lighting. According to Operations Manager Jaco Hooijer, the expansion was necessary going forward. ‘We continue to grow. Demand for our products is increasing across the globe.’
After Qimarox added a standard OEM stretchhooder to its product range last year, the manufacturer of material handling components has now released an improved version of the machine. What’s new about the stretchhooder is the patented concept whereby the tensioning arms, which stretch the stretchhood over the products, function independently in separate guideposts.
Companies are placing ever greater demands on project turnaround times. People expect a new final packaging lines or logistics system to be up and running within a few months. This requires suppliers who deliver their components quickly and on time. Qimarox is responding with a sophisticated product design and manufacturing process that guarantees short lead times. ‘If all suppliers would operate like this all our projects would run a lot smoother.’
Next week four of our colleagues will participate in the The Carbage Run, a run that will lead them through four countries in five days by car, while doing activities on the way.
Qimarox has purchased a new Category BE combination vehicle for the transport of parts. The special Category BE trailer, built by Carrosserie Bakker in Montfoort, allows the manufacturer of palletisers and vertical transport systems to transport more than before. Driver Kaj Hannessen (left on the photo) was given the keys to the Iveco Daily tractor unit and Category BE trailer last week.
After a ring wrapper, Qimarox has now also added a standard stretch hood machine to its range of material handling components. This innovative stretch hood machine distinguishes itself in the market by its lack of power-hungry technologies such as pneumatics and hydraulics. Like the previously introduced ring wrapper, this packaging machine can also be integrated with the palletising module of Qimarox in a complete final packaging system.

Qimarox has released a fast and reliable stretch wrapper, which, like its palletising modules, are sold exclusively to OEMs and system integrators. This versatile ring wrapper can reliably wrap up to 100 pallets in foil per hour (optionally dustproof and waterproof). Because the OEM Ringwrapper can be easily integrated in combination with the palletising modules of Qimarox, the integration and hardware costs of final packaging lines are even further reduced.
With the Prorunner mk10, Qimarox introduces an extremely robust product elevator for pallets of up to 2000 kg. This product lift can transport up to sixty pallets per hour, ten metres upwards. This standardised, modular product lift can be integrated into any end-of-line packaging system or storage system and can furthermore be used in conjunction with the Highrunner mk7, Qimarox’s unique product palletiser.
Martijn Smit will be Qimarox’s new sales manager starting from the first of November. Smit will focus on global promotion to end-users on behalf of the producer of standard product elevators, palletising modules and rotary ring stretch wrappers. Panels with a maximum width of 1495 mm are now also available in stainless steel.
This year, it is exactly twenty years ago since Qimarox was founded. In those twenty years, the company from Harderwijk has become a producer of components for material handling systems that are sold globally. Qimarox distinguishes itself in the market with a vision – standard machines at a competitive price – which has been very successful. In recent years, sales have risen by an average of 15% per year.
Qimarox is taking the world by storm with its wide range of palletising and vertical transport systems. Qimarox’s innovative product lifts, pallet lifts and palletisers are proof that high capacity and flexibility can go together with low operating costs and a high degree of durability. Qimarox will be present at the PackExpo East, taking place from February 16 to 18 in Philadelphia USA.
Qimarox has made the Securyfence safety fencing system even more robust by modifying the default post. In addition, for long safety fencing constructions, Quimarox has developed extra reinforced posts, which makes it unnecessary to use struts or other reinforcements. These posts are so sturdy that it is possible to mount a walk-in protection system to the fencing entirely free of vibration.
Qimarox has extended the Securyfence safety fencing system with a new line of hinged and sliding doors. The new doors are always supplied pre-assembled and are not only stronger and more robust than in the previous line, but also increase the flexibility of the system. Because they have the same dimensions as the standard Securyfence mesh panels, it is now even easier to install a door.
Qimarox will sponsor the Harderwijk windmill ‘De Hoop’ for the next three years. This tower mill in the Vissershaven is one of the most striking features of Harderwijk’s historic city centre. With the sponsorship, the manufacturer of components for material handling systems demonstrates its commitment to social responsibility and the local community.
Starting next summer, companies in North America can have a Prorunner mk5 – Qimarox’s unique vertical conveyor – within only a few weeks. Because of the rapidly growing interest in its products, the manufacturer of material handling components has decided to start supplying customers in North America from the United States, rather than from Europe. As a result, delivery times have shortened by several weeks and transport costs have decreased.
Qimarox has launched a study into the possibilities around using drones for product palletising. Manufacturers of consumer products can use these flying robots to design a very compact, flexible and scalable palletising process. Qimarox will be continuing along the path embarked upon by Amazon.com and others.
The Qimarox Highrunner mk7 is a palletiser that is not only lighting quick, but also very flexible. Because the machine is constructed entirely out of standard modules, the Highrunner mk7 can be used in any situation without any additional adjustments. Thanks to its high degree of standardisation, costs relating to purchase, installation, use and maintenance are also considerably reduced.
Qimarox opens a completely renewed test and demonstration centre in Harderwijk. New or potential customers can experience the opportunities offered by Qimarox for vertical transport and/or palletising of their products first-hand after the opening this autumn. For this purpose, a fully operational palletising and vertical transport and sorting system will be installed in the test and demonstration centre.
Qimarox introduced a completely new pallet lift under the name ‘Prorunner mk9’. The Prorunner mk9 is a compact and robust lift that can effortlessly transport pallets up to 1500 kilograms up or down. Thanks to its modular design, the lift is durable and maintenance friendly and can be easily integrated into any environment without further engineering.
Qimarox has developed a new automated order picking system ‘Collect & Sort’, which can handle up to a thousand products, containers, or cartons per hour. Central to this system is the Prorunner mk5, the successful vertical transport system from the company that evolved from Nedpack in 2012. Products from conveyor channels at different levels are fed out fully automatically and placed on the correct outfeed conveyor in the direction of the forwarding department or palletising station.
Nedpack has transferred the development and manufacture of standard components to a company with a new name: Qimarox. The reason for this is the different approach of Nedpack and Qimarox. Whereas Nedpack will mainly focus on end users of end-of-line packaging systems in The Netherlands, Qimarox will set its sights on system integrators and original equipment manufacturers world-wide. ‘We are certain that Qimarox will be a great success’ says Nedpack founder Peter Hannessen.
